The Intern role is accountable to develop core skills and working knowledge of FNBO business practices and operations through educational sessions, straightforward projects, and other duties requested by the manager.

Internship Details:
Start Date: February 2019
Part-time, flexible hours

Overview

Join a dynamic team focused on transforming our business through new products and fintech partnerships. The Innovation Intern will focus on research, reporting and community engagement to help us understand market and technology trends. You will support our efforts to educate the enterprise about emerging technology and help inform our fintech strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Research: trend-spotting, market and competitive analysis
  • Writing: draft communications to share what you've learned from your research
  • Reporting: help develop and maintain scorecards and dashboards to inform the enterprise
  • Community outreach: build relationships to help us better engage with, and learn from, community organizations (universities, Meetups, etc.)
  • Projects: TBD on an ad-hoc basis

Qualifications

  • Junior status or higher in university (or equivalent experience)
  • Tech background preferred

Schedule

  • Part-time, flexible, Tower-based

  • You must send a 1-2 paragraph writing sample on a current banking innovation trend and why it could/should be relevant to First National Bank. Please send the writing sample to Karrissa Jyles @ kjyles@fnni.com. Your application will be considered incomplete until your writing sample is received.

Duties may include:
Attend and participate in required internship educational sessions to develop and enhance core skills, industry knowledge, and key system and process understanding (as available)
Participate and/or lead the completion of assigned short-term projects, as requested by manager
Work with manager to develop, implement and complete a development plan, intended to identify educational opportunities in the organization aligned with interests
