Description

Stanley Consultants is currently looking for a Structural Engineer for our Denver office. This position will perform power and energy system related design tasks including: high voltage electrical substations or transmission lines comprised of monopoles or steel lattice towers, designing and analyzing steel, concrete, and masonry structures; shallow and deep foundations; and site grading design. Some investigative field work may be required as necessary on projects. The successful candidate will exercise judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design adaptations and modifications, and be accountable to a Project Lead/Manager.

Essential duties include:

  • Collect and analyze data from reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
  • Maintain client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Provide design budget oversight.
  • Assist with developing design costs estimated for projects with the department.
  • Attend onsite and offsite client meetings.
  • Prepare and check design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Work with designers/technicians to produce designs and CAD based working files into working drawings.
  • Conducts construction site visits to monitor progress and compliance with construction documents.
  • Coordination with vendors, regulatory agencies, utility companies and sub-consultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.
  • Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control
  • Performs the design of structures in accordance with design codes and standards published by ICC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC..

Background requirements include:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited 4 year college or university.
  • Must possess a minimum of 4 to 12 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer software packages and automated engineering and design software including MathCAD, STAAD.Pro, RISA3D, LPILE, MFAD, and MS Office Suite. TNX Tower, PLS Tower, PLS Pole, RISA Foundation, and/or RISA Floor a plus.
  • Must possess a Professional Engineer license; Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or must have the ability to obtain immediately
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States for any length of time.

Salary Range: Base Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
