The Arvada, CO location is nestled near the foothills of the front range, just west of Denver. The office is a 10-minute drive from downtown Golden and Arvada and is an easy commute from most of the Denver Metro area. Colorado offers year-round outdoor activities and is a melting pot of cultures.

Our team in Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Space Vehicles team in Arvada, CO. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager and will have a 9/80 hybrid work schedule.

To be considered for the Lead Software Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  • Self-Starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and can communicate effectively.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and developing software in an embedded real-time environment.
  • 10+ years of experience developing in C++, Python or similar languages.
  • 8+ years using experience using a Real-Time Operating System such as Wind River or Greenhills.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and network protocols fundamentals.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement real-time embedded software utilized in the Spacecraft Buses.
  • Design and implement software simulators used in automated testing.
  • Perform software unit testing.
  • Review and provide feedback on software requirements.
  • Guide the development of the technical roadmap.
  • Direct interfacing to space vehicle hardware.
  • Work with internal team members to solve complex software and system issues.
  • Work with fellow software engineers in the Agile development environment.
  • Interface to the Subject Matter Experts in other disciplines.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level team members.
  • Work directly with customers.

Salary Range:

The base pay range for this opportunity is $111.010 - $160,000 per year. 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
