Primary Purpose

At Emmes, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy interactive R Shiny web applications.
  • Collaborate with programmers, data scientists and analysts to understand data and user requirements.
  • Translate data analysis and visualization tasks into clear and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented R code
  • Identify inconsistencies and initiate resolution of data, analytical, or reporting problems.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must currently be enrolled in college with planned degree in data science, computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, or related fields
  • Basic experience with R programming including data manipulation and data visualization and R Studio workbench or other IDEs
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Creativity, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working on R Shiny web applications, preferred
  • Experience using SQL, preferred
  • Experience using Version Control software (Git, SVN, or similar) to manage programming code, preferred
