Position Details

SUMMARY

Responsible for developing, expanding and retaining retail and consumer loan client relationships and achieving monthly sales and referrals by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Build relationships with local community organizations which will ultimately enhance the distribution of First Bank products and services
  • Be the First Bank representative who works with community leadership in order to increase visibility regarding financial awareness in the communities we serve.
  • Work within Low to Moderate Income Communities in an attempt to enhance deposit and lending opportunities
  • Expands client relationships by listening to client's needs and providing solutions via the use of all appropriate product features available across all bank product lines.
  • Expands the use of alternative delivery systems by explaining the merits of other systems such as Online Banking System, Online Bill Pay, ITM network, Debit Card, and Client Contact Center.
  • Contributes to the Bank's success by identifying sales opportunities and referring clients to the appropriate area. Works towards achievement of branch and individual sales and referral goals.
  • Increases sales and cross-sell opportunities by participating in sales events, internal/external events, out bound calls, and promotional activities.
  • Contributes to the Bank's efforts in reaching and surpassing its CRA goals by participating in community service activities.
  • Ensures continued relationships with our clients by assisting with client transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, etc. courteously, accurately and as expeditiously as possible. Act as a liaison to our ITM and Virtual Banking colleagues.
  • Provides excellent client service by accurately and expeditiously opening new accounts and other products for current clients and new clients to the Bank. Provides maintenance on accounts and products when requested and authorized by the client. Quotes rates, terms and fees on all products and services and provides necessary disclosures as required.
  • Works to retain existing client relationships and obtain new ones by conducting calls on maturing accounts, following up on leads, referrals and other prospecting opportunities.
  • Identifies the need for and originates consumer loan applications. Assists in the processing of loan applications and closing. Must be NMLS registered within 60 days of employment.
  • Helps commercial and small business clients with product questions, account support and various other tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Skills:

  • Proven sales skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 24 months of sales and/or banking experience preferred
  • Adheres to all Sales Activity Management Plans and Minimum Performance Expectations for the role
  • Hybrid position will require min 20 hours at a branch location and the other hours developing business within the community and attending community events as needed, including weekend hours.
  • NMLS registered
  • Multi-lingual, a plus
