Overview

As the Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be reponsible for reviewing and evaluating all certified payroll. You will ensure compliance with labor laws and work closely with Project Management staff to resolve any issues. In this role, you will also submit status change forms for craft related changes such as Supervisor change, merit increases and terminations. You may also request employee dispatch from local unions.

What you will be doing
    Evaluates and submits all Certified Payroll through Company tracking tool to ensure compliance with labor laws and payroll regulations.
  • Supports and resolves labor compliance discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner to avoid penalties for payroll or reporting non-compliance.
  • Corresponds with subcontractors, vendors, project owners and project management team to support inquiries or issues with their Certified Payrolls to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Supports project management staff with Certified Payroll inquiries to efficiently and effectively resolve inquiries or issues.
  • Reviews project contract specification documentation to ensure Certified Payroll process conforms to contract requirements.
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
  • Performs additional clerical duties, as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Reviews and files project Craft payroll weekly.
  • Creates and files corrective timesheets for Craft and Staff.
  • Coordinates with the Business Team and Project Controls for month-end procedures.
  • Performs Craft new hire on-boarding duties, including new hire paperwork, employee input, and coordination with field teams.
  • Collaborates with Project Owner to resolve labor compliance issues and manages response requirements.
What we are looking for
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or 2 years construction administrative experience required.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure; self-starter; must take personal initiative and willingly assume responsibility and ownership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Davis Bacon and Labor Laws preferred.
  • JD Edwards system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Labor & Industries requirements and Labor Laws preferred.
  • Knowledge of Union contracts preferred.
  • Heavy Job experience preferred.
  • LCP Tracker experience preferred.
