OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Robotics Coach to lead our middle and upper school VEX robotics teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, engineering, or a related field, along with experience working with high school students. As the Head Robotics Coach, you will oversee all aspects of the robotics program, including team training, competition preparation, hosting tournaments, managing assistant coaches and student mentorship. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and guide students in the exciting field of robotics and STEM education.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Lead and manage our 6-12 school robotics team, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to enhance students' robotics skills and knowledge.

  • Coordinate team participation in robotics competitions, including registration, logistics, and travel arrangements.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in robotics design, programming, and problem-solving.

  • Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to integrate robotics into the curriculum and promote STEM education.

  • Maintain and organize robotics equipment, tools, and resources.

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and stakeholders regarding team activities, progress, and achievements.

  • Foster partnerships with industry professionals, universities, and community organizations to support the robotics program.

  • Stay current with advancements in robotics technology and competition rules to ensure the team remains competitive.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience coaching or mentoring high school students, preferably in robotics or STEM-related activities.

  • Strong knowledge of robotics principles, including mechanical design, electronics, and programming (experience with platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX, or FIRST Robotics Competition is a plus).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Organizational and leadership abilities to effectively manage a robotics team and coordinate activities.

  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM education.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for robotics competitions and events.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel with the team as needed.


SALARY & BENEFITS:

Seasonal Stipend:

$16,000 - $19,200 (for 2 seasons)
