Job Overview

This position is responsible for full performance complex systems analysis, design and applications programming for single and multiple information systems, software applications, architectures, data warehouses, databases, and data extraction and reporting. Duties include designing, planning, testing, implementing, maintenance, problem solving, documenting, and developing software code, standards, principles and practices. This position may perform lead work over lower level staff.

Additional Position Iinformation:

  • Expertise in PeopleSoft HCM and FSCM Modules: Proficient in the functionalities and implementations of HCM and FSCM.
  • Proficiency in PeopleCode: Skilled in using PeopleSoft's proprietary programming language for application customization. F
  • Familiarity with PeopleTools 8.59+: Knowledgeable in the latest PeopleTools for development, application design, and management.
  • PeopleSoft Application Lifecycle Management: Experienced in the full lifecycle of PeopleSoft applications, from development to maintenance.
  • Integration Skills: Capable of developing interfaces and integrations between PeopleSoft and external systems.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM): Competent in managing application updates and patches using PUM.
  • Database Management: Strong database skills, especially in Oracle or SQL Server, as used with PeopleSoft.
  • Performance Tuning: Ability to optimize PeopleSoft applications for performance efficiency.
  • PeopleSoft Security Model: Understanding of role-based security and data integrity within PeopleSoft.
  • Reporting Tools Experience: Familiar with PeopleSoft reporting tools like PS Query.
  • Application Designer and Drop Zones: Skilled in using Application Designer for customizations and adept at leveraging Drop Zones for extending PeopleSoft applications without impacting future updates.
Additional Information

Department Name: Business Applications Services
Job Status: 40 hours weekly, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8a-5p. Work hours may vary due to the needs of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
EQUIVALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification, and/or related experience equivalent to nine (9) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Analyzes, designs, builds, modifies, implements, tests and debugs new or existing software applications, architectures, databases, and systems integration to automate business processes, as applicable.
  • Prepares time lines, project plans and flow charts for the development or enhancement of new and existing software application programs.
  • Provides enterprise level application design guidance and consultation. Collaborates with development team, business intelligence, manager, customers and project managers to develop requirements, applications, systems, data warehouse and database requirements to meet organizational and end user needs. Provides recommendations regarding configuration, design, usability and maintainability for services, applications, interfaces and other dependencies that integrate with platforms.
  • Gathers, analyzes and documents complex business and user requirements, functional requirements and data specifications.
  • Designs, writes and documents technical specifications to design or redesign complex applications.
  • Collaborates with applications staff and users of information systems to evaluate, plan, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain application development efforts and/or reports. Works with applications staff to translate and document user needs and system requirements into report specification and/or techinical documents. Integrates data between multiple systems for reporting as necessary.
  • Performs database tuning and configuring; developing backup and recovery processes, repeatable methods to refresh non-production environments from production, data life-cycle management, and system upgrades. Writes stored procedures, packages, and functions.
  • Designs and develops complex processes required to extract, transform, cleanse and load data into the enterprise data warehouse and data marts. Develops solutions to address data warehouse query performance and quality issues including data profiling, development, enhancement, and technical standards. Ensures reporting systems are maintained, and supported during system and database upgrades and modifications.
  • Recommends, develops and creates peripheral technologies and IT processes in support of application platforms.
  • Recommends, develops, documents and maintains software coding and development standards, principles and practices.
  • Troubleshoots complex performance and system availability problems ensuring quality of the enterprise application and/or data warehouse. Consults with end users and information technology staff to identify user problems.
  • Designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, and prepares flow charts for both new and existing systems. May assist lower level developers in the development of complex applications and coding.
  • Serves as a technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Participates in Production Support on-call rotation as necessary

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $109,636.42 to $164,454.63
Hourly Salary Range: $52.71 to $79.06
