Life's Good, Reinvent Your Future

LG's 2024 Summer Internship Program will be a 9-week internship from June 3rd through August 2nd, 2024.

The internship will be based in the LG North America office located in Santa Clara, CA and pay an hourly rate of $23.50.

The LG Internship Program is built on the philosophy of ensuring that each intern is given the opportunity to perform robust and meaningful work while gaining real-world experience.

The program will also include each intern working on an individual strategic project for the department and delivering a presentation at the program's end.

Responsibilities

* Provide Image Science support the Home Entertainment Product Planning Team

* Conduct research on observer metamerism, VRR flicker and low luminance color reproduction.

* Conduct statistical analysis of experimental data

* Measure the emission spectra of displays

* Measure temporal response behavior of latest OLED TVs

* Assist with developing metrics that predict the visibility of artefacts introduced by modern displays

Projects

* Projects will focus on the newly developed observer metamerism index

* This will help compare several display technologies and explain the impact observer metamerism would have on the workflows using the displays

* Produce a model of VRR flicker and conduct a measurement on multiple displays to show LG's advantage versus competitors

Qualifications

* Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited College/University and going into their second or third year

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

* Deep understanding of color and vision science and colorimetry

* Knowledge of psychometric experiments, statistical analysis, and understanding of temporal vision processing

* Strong analytical and communication skills

* Presentation skills and ability to write scientific papers

* Ability to quickly adopt knowledge from reading scientific paper
