Manage operations and accounting for alternatives investments within Great-West Lifeco and affiliates, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions and compliance with accounting standards like Statutory, US GAAP & IFRS.

What you will do:

  • Manage alternatives investment operations, including accurate and timely transaction input, manager portal monitoring, trade ticket creation.
  • Handle alternatives investment accounting from subledger review to general ledger closure, ensuring accurate financial reporting and disclosure.
  • Lead investment accounting processes for the Company and affiliates, collaborating with the technical accounting group for regulatory updates.
  • Complete monthly close in the investment accounting system (PAM) and reconcile feed files to general ledger systems.
  • Establish internal controls for general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations, ensuring data integrity.
  • Review reports to resolve exceptions and reconciling items promptly.
  • Coordinate financial statement audits for the Company and affiliates related to investment accounting.
  • Act as the primary contact for alternative asset managers, regional investment team, SAP modifications, and accounting system changes.
  • Support reporting and analysis on Lifeco's consolidated alternatives investment activity and portfolio
  • Document processes and procedures comprehensively
  • Monitor securities accounting system setup for compliance and oversee periodic upgrades
  • Evaluate system functionalities against business requirements and facilitate necessary adjustments.
  • Make staffing decisions, including recruitment and training, to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Plan staff reorganization to accommodate workload fluctuations or absences.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to existing policies and procedures for operational efficiency and compliance.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 6 years of related investment accounting, high volume ledger, and three years supervisory experience.

What will set you apart:

  • CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of alternative investments (private equity, SMAs, CLOs), derivatives and hedge accounting, and financial instruments

Base Salary Range

$97,000.00 - $136,975.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
