Mott MacDonald is actively growing its water practice particularly in Denver, CO and central Florida (Tampa and Orlando). We are looking for an experienced CAD Designer or Senior Designer with at least 5-10 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the Designer on small to large and simple to complex projects.

The position offers excellent potential for professional growth and the opportunity to collaborate not only with water resources personnel, but with our many practices including dams, geotechnical, energy, and transportation.

Responsibilities are as follows:

• Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types.

• Develop water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a significant portion in plant environments.

• Produce preliminary and final drawings in accordance with company and client standards while advancing the use of 3D modeling within the design team.

• Coordinate with complimentary disciplines at a project level which may include members of the structural, electrical, mechanical, and architectural team.

• Produce project specifications in support of engineering design team.

• Assist and coordinate with team members on construction activities such as shop drawing review.

• Produce spreadsheets that summarize quantities and estimated unit costs.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

We invite applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience as a CAD/BIM designer.

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred.

  • High school graduate, technical degree in BIM/CAD software strongly desired.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3Dand/or REVIT BIM.

• Experience in various infrastructure project types: Drainage, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Mechanical, etc.

• Understanding of developing and supporting engineering drawings.

• Experience with file conversion and file management between multiple digital environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks in a logical order.

• Strong verbal communication and time management skills.

In compliance with the Pay Transparency Act for Colorado, the expected salary range is from $65,000-95,000. Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
